J. HENRY SMALL BATCH BOURBON

"True small batch bourbon, using batches of only 20 barrels. We blend these barrels together, and then slowly reduce the proof in a technique that does not shock the spirit to an approachable 92 proof (46% alcohol). Dictador 12 Year Colombian Rum

Dictador 12 Years Rum is made from the fermentation of virgin sugar cane honey distilled partly in copper alembic and partly in steel continuous column to achieve a medium body rum.

This beautifully crafted rum is aged in pre-used oak barrels and then bottled under the highest quality controls to ensure all the secrets are contained in the liquid flavour.


Nose: Intense with soft caramel, honey, dry seeds and lightly roasted coffee, giving way to medium oak aromas

Palate: Soft and round mouthfeel with caramel, cocoa, and honey light coffee flavours


Finish: Light oakiness with a complexity of lingering flavours

Festive Cocktails

Wintery Orange Old-Fashioned

Ingredients:

  • 1 sugar cube, or 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
  • 3 dashes of orange bitters
  • Splash of club soda
  • Large peel of orange zest
  • 2 ounces J. HENRY SMALL BATCH BOURBON


Instructions:

  1. In an old-fashioned, or short, glass place the sugar cube (or 1/2 teaspoon of sugar). Add the bitters and a splash of soda.
  2. Use a muddler or a spoon to crush up the sugar until it is dissolved. I like to add the orange peel here too. Squeeze it to express the oils, run it around the rim of the glass and muddle it right in with the bitters and sugar. This gets the most fresh orange flavour into the cocktail.
  3. Add ice and bourbon. Stir and enjoy.

Christmas Cranberry Sangria

Ingredients:

  • 325ml Marrenon Les Grains Rosè de Merlot
  • 250ml cranberry Juice
  • 50ml Brandy
  • 1 cinnamon Stick
  • 1 tsp golden caster sugar
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 250ml lemonade
  • 50g frozen cranberries
  • mint sprigs
  • ice


Directions:

STEP 1 Add the rosé, cranberry juice and brandy into a large pitcher with the cinnamon stick, sugar and half the lemon slices. Put in the fridge to chill.

STEP 2 Top up with the lemonade, then add the cranberries, any fruit, the rest of the lemon and a handful of ice. Serve in ice-filled tumblers with mint.

Gingerbread Martini

Ingredients:


  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce Merrys Original Irish Cream liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce gingerbread syrup
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla ice cream, softened
  • Whipped cream


Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients with ice in a shaker.
  • Shake until smooth and pour into chilled glass.
  • Top with whipped cream if desired.
